We want joy everlasting and try to tether its ephemeral nature.
We know delight doesn’t last, but we want joy to be different.
We expect joy to reverberate while delight fades.
We love the polished jewels of broken hearts-
We cherish the tears of diminishing delight and enduring joy.
They are badges of experience-
I looked at the jungle of wires and asked my dad to teach me how they worked.
He would not do it and said that I should learn to hold a flashlight.
I learned how to do that dad. It’s taken most of my life
